Architectural Student Wins Boto Contest

In announcing the judges' decision on the winner of the competition, Coldfever International Group Executive Chairman, Mr Gabriel Ehrenfeld stated that the standard of the entries was incredibly high, and that he was proud that the Coldfever International Group was contributing to the development of export markets for Australian architectural talent.

Mr Mariani stated that his winning design for the Boto Production Complex in Yantai was inspired by what he described as Australia's greatest asset - the beach. The design features sandstone blade walls, large glass curtain walls, steel and rendered white concrete.

The design competition required entrants to create the facades for three buildings in the complex: the showroom facility, the office precinct, and a hotel.

The showroom facility is a 3 level building. The Ground Floor will contain the Boto Museum, to exhibit the work and results of more than 20 years of research and development on the Boto Ski Free. A modern showroom featuring the current Boto range is on the second level, with a state of the art Technical Training Center on Level 3.

The luxurious on-site hotel will feature 6 star accommodation, including a fine dining restaurant, contemporary health club, hi-tech business center, library, and every modern living convenience. The office precinct will provide the company with 3,200 square metres (approx 34,000 sq feet) of A-grade office accommodation.
