The BOTO is the latest version of our remotely controlled skiing watercraft, based on over two decades of engineering and product refinement. The craft has had several names in the course of its development, including SKI FREE, SOLO and WAKETRAINER.
SKI FREE
Ski Free, originally with hydraulic controls and a 40hp engine, was the first prototype of a remotely operated skiing craft where the skier controlled the boat. It was smaller, slower and less responsive than subsequent models, but really created some excitement in its day.
SOLO
Solo was a more refined version, with a newer slicker hull, and the first model to use electronic controls rather than hydraulics, which enabled a more authentic experience for the skier, and improved the durability and versatility of the craft.
WAKETRAINER
More recently, the craft was adapted to make it suitable for wakeboarding and sky-skiing. These enhancements enabled users at even beginner levels of the sport to use the craft with minimal instruction before they were up and riding.
BOTO
The new 2007 BOTO SF-70 was released for sale on 16 July 2006, for delivery for season 2007. It features the very best of all the features of both the Solo and the Waketrainer, plus some new enhancements that optimise the craft for skiing, wakeboarding and tubing. A boto is a rare freshwater dolphin found in the Amazon. Like the boto, the new BOTO SF-70 commands a playful mastery of its aquatic environment.
